JobLeadsDirect ("we", "us") is the data controller for personal data collected through jobleadsdirect.co.uk. Contact: support@jobleadsdirect.co.uk.

From tradesmen: name, email, mobile number, postal address, date of birth, trade, business name, payment confirmation details, and a copy of your driving licence or passport for ID verification.

From customers (leads): name, contact details, postcode, and job description — collected via our advertising campaigns when customers request a quote.

Automatically: basic technical data (IP address, browser, pages viewed) for security and analytics.

To create and manage your account; verify your identity; deliver leads you have purchased; process payments; send service notifications (purchase confirmations, lead delivery, account updates); investigate reports of bad leads; comply with legal obligations; and improve the service.

Contract: processing required to deliver the service you signed up for.
Legal obligation: retaining records for tax and accounting.
Legitimate interest: fraud prevention, security, service improvement.
Consent: non-essential cookies and any marketing communications.

Our payment processor (for taking payment); SMS and email providers (to deliver leads and notifications); our cloud hosting and database providers; and law enforcement where legally required. We do not sell your data and we do not share tradesman ID documents with customers or other tradesmen.

Account data: while your account is active plus 6 years after closure for tax records. ID documents: until your account is closed, then deleted within 30 days. Lead data: 12 months from delivery. Marketing preferences: until you withdraw consent.

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to processing. You can also withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights email support@jobleadsdirect.co.uk. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

We use a small number of essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers on this site. Where any non-essential cookie is used in future we will ask for your consent first.

ID documents are stored in a private, access-controlled bucket. Passwords are hashed. Payments are processed by a PCI-compliant provider — we never see your card details.

We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified by email.

If you use our free "Is my quote fair?" checker, we read the quote you upload or type in (using an automated AI tool) only to compare its price with typical local prices. We keep just a short summary of the job, the total, what's included and our verdict — we do not keep the other company's name, phone number or address, or your address from the document. The uploaded file is stored privately and deleted within 30 days. We never share your quote document with tradesmen; if you ask for a second quote, the tradesman only sees a short description of the job.

If you add photos to one of our price calculators (including "Snap a photo instead"), we use them to estimate the job — an automated AI tool may read them to suggest answers, which you check before seeing a price. Photos are stored privately, shared only with the tradesman who takes your job (never shown on our public job board), and deleted 90 days after you upload them.

If you upload a house survey to our "Survey to repair list" tool, we read it using an automated AI tool only after you've confirmed your mobile number, to pull out the repair items and give rough costs. We keep just a short list of the repairs (a plain-English title and summary, condition rating, urgency and trade) and your postcode — not the surveyor's details or the full text. The PDF is stored privately and deleted within 30 days. If you ask for quotes, tradesmen only see the short list of repairs for their trade, never the survey document.

If you sign up to Storm Watch, we store your first name, mobile number, postcode (and its rough location), the exact consent wording you agreed to and when, and when we last texted you. We only use this to text you before or after big storms in your area — no more than 6 texts a year — with a link to get damage checked by a local tradesperson. We only text you if you ticked the consent box and confirmed your number by code. Every text includes a one-tap stop link; tapping it unsubscribes you straight away. We delete your Storm Watch details within 30 days of you unsubscribing. We never share your number with tradesmen unless you post a job.

After you post a job we may give you a street link to share with neighbours. Anyone opening it sees only the type of trade and your postcode district (for example "NP44") — never your name, full postcode, address, price or job details. If a neighbour books the same trade through it, we may send them the same tradesman, and we keep a note linking the two jobs so we can do that and count how well the links work.

After you've confirmed your mobile number and seen your price, you can ask for an AI-generated example of what your space could look like with the job done. We send your photo to an automated AI image tool to create it. The picture is only an example — your tradesman will advise on the real result. Your photo and the example are stored privately; if you ask for a quote, only the tradesman who takes your job can see the example (never on our public job board). Both are deleted 90 days after they're made.

If you use our free winter check, we only look at your photos after you've confirmed your mobile number by code. An automated AI tool looks at each photo to give a rough green/amber/red rating – it's only a guide from the photo, not an inspection. We keep your name, mobile, postcode and the short report. Photos are stored privately, shared only with the tradesman who takes your job if you ask for quotes (never on our public job board), and deleted 90 days after you upload them.

If you use this free check, we only look at your photo after you've confirmed your mobile number by code. An automated AI tool gives a rough condition score and lifespan from the photo – it's only a guide, not an inspection. We keep your name, mobile, postcode and the result. The photo is stored privately, shared only with the tradesman who takes your job if you ask for a price (never on our public job board), and deleted 90 days after you upload it.
